The stage apart, Sreelatha is respected for the depth of her research, lectures and demonstrations. She holds a Masters degree in Indian history and a Phd. In Bharatanatyam. She is currently a faculty member in the Department of Dance at The Tamilnadu Dr. J. Jayalalitha University of Music and Fine Arts, Chennai. She is also a research guide for Phd. students in Bharatanatyam. Sreelatha is also the founder President and Trustee of ‘Prayathnam’ – an organization for dancers, teachers and trainers. She is based in Chennai where she also oversees her own institution – Anthara Centre for Performing Arts.
