On small screen, Rajesh Khanna didn’t get much success, but his work was highly appreciated in TV serial like Ittefaq (2000-2002) which was his debut, aired on DD Metro. In ‘Ittefaq’, Rajesh Khanna played the main lead and subsequently ‘Raghukul Reêt Sada Chali Aayi’ aired in 2008-9 (DD-Metro) and ‘Apne Paraye’ on B4U channel.

In December 2007, Rajkamal announced Bhabhimaa an emotional saga. Rajesh Khanna was paired opposite Leena Chandaverkar, his co-star in movies ‘Mehboob Ki Mehndi’ and ‘Mamta Ki Chaon Mein’. Rajesh Khanna was also working for an untitled TV serial, produced by film producer Mukesh Malhotra which was being shot at Mumbai’s Film city studio, but due to Kaka’s ailing, health it was left incomplete.

Rajesh Khanna was also offered a controversial show Big Boss 7. Initially, he disagreed, but later on gave a green signal, but he lost the show due to his alcohol habit which was against the rule of this show. He was going to be introduced as a wildcard entry and was offered an exorbitant fee of Rs. 3.5 crores, highest remuneration as a contestant, but things didn’t worked out.
