Film fare

Rajesh Khanna has won 5 Film fare awards in his whole career. The first award he received as the best actor was for Sachaa Jhutha in 1971, followed by Anand (1972), Aavishkar (1975), Film fare’s Special Award for completion of 25 years in the film industry (1991) and the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the 50th Film fare Awards in 2005.

Lions Club: Lions Club awarded Rajesh Khanna for the film Dard in 1982.

All India Critics Association: All India Critics Association’ (AICA) awarded Rajesh Khanna for Aaj Ka M.L.A. Ram Avtaar as a Best Actor in 1985.

Bengal Film Journalists Awards: He had won 4 ‘Bengal Film Journalists Award’s’ for Best Actor. The films were Anand (1972), Bawarchi (1973), Namak Haram (1974) and 1987 for Amrit.

Stardust Awards: Stardust awarded ‘Pride of Film Industry Award’ to Rajesh Khanna in 2009.

Pune International Film Festival (PIFF): Pune International Film Festival’ (PIFF) presented award to Rajesh Khanna for his ‘Lifetime Achievement’ in 2010.

Zee Cine Awards: In the year 2001, Rajesh Khanna received ‘Zee Cine Lifetime Achievement Award’ for his contribution to Indian Cinema.

Sansui Film Awards: Sansui presented Rajesh Khanna ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the 3rd ‘Sansui Film Award Function’ in 2001.

Apsara Film & Television Producers Guild Awards: ‘Apsara Film & Television Producers Guild Association’ awarded Rajesh Khanna ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for Major Contribution to Indian Cinema in 2012.

Rajesh Khanna was also a recipient of 10th International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) Lifetime Achievement Award in Macau (2009) and has won 7 All-India Critics Association (AICA) as a best actor.

Rajesh Khanna was posthumously awarded the Padma Bhushan (India’s third highest civilian award) in 2013. The award was received by his wife Dimple Kapadia Khanna.
