Epilogue

Sallie and the gentleman parted their ways never to meet again maybe. Sallie got busy in her mundane, everyday life. Mandy left without leaving a trace after he recovered.

Sallie lived a whole life within a span of a single day. She started out in the morning and by the end of the day she regained what she craved for and then lost that forever.

As we travelled through her inner stream of consciousness and got pervasive peeps into her life, present and past, we ourselves got on board and passively got exposed to the pains and joys of her life as she floated in the hollows and gloated in the highs. Similar to our normal stream of thoughts that we go through each moment, each minute, each hour and each day, Sallie’s experiences had also been to and fro in life’s journey. Stream of consciousness is more of an archaic form of narration pitted against traditional storytelling, but undoubtedly it’s the most realistic representation of human thought.

This natural train of thought might read discontinuous or fragmented, but isn’t it the way we all think – one minute we dwell on the present and within moments don’t we traverse back years or days and grapple with reminiscences or cherished or tormented moments that are lost forever! While you enjoy the book, scanning the pages of this solitary young woman in love, also take a moment to pause and dwell on the love of your life!
