Celebrating the Brilliance of Pudumai

A Testament to Incredible Talent

It is with great pleasure and a sense of awe that I write this foreword for an extraordinary book that delves into the depths of history and imagination. Within these pages, a remarkable journey awaits, guided by the mind of a young and vibrant author - Sharvesh, who at the tender age of fifteen, has managed to transport us back in time to witness the pre-independence era of India.

The concept of time travel has captivated the minds of humans for centuries, fuelling our imagination and inspiring countless works of literature. It is a subject that challenges the boundaries of what we know and invites us to explore the mysteries of our past. But to encounter such a tale written by a teenager is an extraordinary feat.

In this story, the author skilfully weaves together a captivating narrative, where he embarks on a thrilling adventure through time, discovering the rich tapestry of India’s history before it gained independence. As we accompany the young explorer, we witness the diverse cultures, struggles, and remarkable achievements that shaped the nation we know today.

One cannot help but admire the author’s curiosity and depth of research. The vivid descriptions and meticulous attention to historical details paint a vivid picture of bygone eras, allowing readers to immerse themselves in the sights, sounds, and emotions of the time. The author’s ability to breathe life into historical characters and events is truly commendable, creating a tapestry of experiences that transport us effortlessly across time.

While reading this book, it becomes evident that the young author possesses a remarkable passion for history and a keen understanding of the complexities that define a nation’s journey towards independence. It is a testament to the power of young minds and their capacity to imagine and create, unencumbered by preconceived notions or the limitations of age. This book serves as a reminder that history is not a stagnant entity confined to textbooks, but a living tapestry that continues to shape our present and future. By engaging with the past, we gain insights that can help us navigate the challenges of the present and build a better future.

My heartfelt appreciation for your exceptional storytelling skills and the bold choice the author made in portraying the creator of the time machine in his story as a female rather than the traditional male archetype. It is truly refreshing to see young authors like Sharvesh challenge conventional norms and break free from gender stereotypes. This sends a powerful message to your readers, especially young girls, that women can excel in the field of science and make significant contributions to the world. By choosing to highlight a female scientist, he is promoting gender equality and diversity, which are essential values in today’s society.

I am delighted to introduce this book, which stands as a testament to the incredible talent and creativity of its young author. May it inspire readers of all ages to embark on their own explorations of history, and may it serve as a reminder that the power to change the world lies within each of us, regardless of age or circumstance.Sharvesh’s mother deserves heartfelt appreciation for discovering the writer in him, nurturing and promoting his skills and passions but also for being a dedicated co-traveller on his journey to becoming an author for the third time.

So without further ado, I invite Sharvesh to step into the world of this extraordinary time machine, designed and imagined by a young genius. Prepare to be enthralled, educated, and entertained as you journey back in time to witness the pre-independence history of India through the eyes of a 15-year-old boy.

Blessings and Congratulations

It is my pleasure to write a few words about this fictional book by Master Sharvesh. I have known him for the last 3 years and had the opportunity to be part of his earlier book release too. It’s not every day we see a 15-year-old boy authoring books, and that is unique. This shows the dedication and academic flair of Sharvesh. Kudos!

Pudumai, is a Pudumaiyana (novel attempt) book! We keep telling people that our country’s history is to be rewritten, and here he is doing it! Right from the word go, the readers are taken for a ride that too in a time machine. Nostalgic moments kindle our hearts, and so does this novel. We experience the movement for Indian independence through Sharvesh’s eyes.

He has rightly started the revisit with the First War of Indian Independence and ending it on a positive note: “India discovers herself again!” Readers are in for a bumpy trip throughout the journey, going through the past atrocities of Britishers! Every point of revisit is a milestone movement in our fight for freedom. In that way, Sharvesh has put history in a nutshell! The attention to detail in the names and statistics demonstrates how much time he spent gathering, editing, and understanding the material. By doing so, he has established himself as an accomplished writer. A future historian is emerging!

It is incredibly engaging and captivating because of the clear and concise narration, the seamless transition, and the emotional usage. People will start reading this book, finish it in one sitting, and only then put it down. Sharvesh is sure to inspire many students through this book to take up writing and reading as a habit. In an era where students are living in a digital world, Sharvesh’s book will bring them back to reality. It is said, A Nation that forgets the past has no future! Sharvesh’s work will ensure that people don’t forget our past and the great contributions of our freedom fighters! I wish Master Sharvesh all success for this book and his future books and poems. May God bless him!

Two words—Crazy & Amazing

How does one describe a 15-year-old kid who has the passion to do something hatke (something different) from a normal child. So does that make him anyone special? Yes for sure, when children of his age would want to play cricket, watch cartoons, go out having fun with friends. To me only two words – Crazy & Amazing.

At 15 he has already penned 2 books! His love for plants, trees, nature and environment shows how mature a boy he is, caring for the human race. A word as I know him is good enough to set his mind working to write a story. His fascination to read the autobiographies of Legends is awe inspiring. His stories have been transformed into blogs by his mother which is an additional input for Sharvesh to keep at writing and thinking out of the box. The book which he has embarked upon is a fitting tribute as India celebrates its 75th Independence Day with pride. The Indian Independence Movement was a series of historic events with the ultimate aim of ending British rule in India also known as British Raj. It lasted from 1857 to 1947.

The first nationalistic revolutionary movement for Indian Independence emerged from Bengal. It later took root in the newly formed Indian National Congress with prominent moderate leaders seeking the right to appear for Indian Civil Service examinations in British India, as well as more economic rights for natives. The first half of the 20th century saw a more radical approach towards self-rule by the Lal Bal Pal triumvirate, Aurobindo Ghosh and V. O. Chidambaram Pillai.

The stages of independence struggle in the 1920s were characterized by the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi and Congress’ adoption of Gandhi’s policy of non-violence and civil disobedience. Some of the leading followers of Gandhi’s ideology were Jawaharlal Nehru, Vallabhbhai Patel, Abdul Ghaffar Khan, Maulana Azad, and others. Intellectuals such as Rabindranath Tagore, Subramania Bharati, and Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay spread patriotic awareness. Female leaders like Sarojini Naidu, Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit, Pritilata Waddedar, and Kasturba Gandhi promoted the emancipation of Indian women and their participation. The Study of India’s Independence and Partition has been beautifully penned by Sharvesh. I have read every single chapter with so much pride and I am sure this art of writing will continue to flourish with Sharvesh as he grows up to be a wonderful citizen of our wonderful nation

We as seniors have to pass on the baton to the youth and Sharvesh is one of them. Surely, they need our guidance at all times but what is reassuring is the fact that with the likes of Sharvesh is that our nation is in safe hands. To his parents and all those who have inspired Sharvesh thus far, my gratitude. My sincere thanks to his mother Buvaneswari Subramani and Gaannappriya Mohan for making me a part of this wonderful masterpiece which will surely become a part of my personal Library.

Love,

Profound Sense of Patriotism

Every now and then, a book comes along that challenges the norm and redefines what we perceive as possible for a 15-year-old author. Today, we stand on the precipice of a new gem from Sharvesh, who has shown a profound understanding of complex themes, temporal mechanics, historical accuracy and an extraordinary grasp of India’s rich and tumultuous history, rarely seen even among seasoned writers. Sharvesh invites us on a journey through time, guided by the unlikeliest of vehicles - a time machine gifted by his endearing aunt. Such a creative premise does more than simply carry the narrative forward; it provides a lens through which we are invited to witness and engage with a past that continues to shape our present and future.

Through his exploration of iconic Indian independence movements such as the Khilafat Movement and the Quit India Movement, our author demonstrates not only an impressive understanding of these critical events but also a profound sense of patriotism that imbues his writing with an emotional depth and authenticity that are truly captivating. His vivid and detailed descriptions transport us back to these crucial moments, making history come alive right before our eyes.

What is even more remarkable is his deft handling of scientific concepts. It’s a testament to his understanding and imagination that the reader can effortlessly traverse the complex terrain of temporal mechanics. This book is not just a historical time travel tale. It is a story of a young boy’s journey of self-discovery and growth. It’s about understanding one’s roots and heritage. And above all, it’s a heartfelt tribute to India’s freedom fighters and their sacrifices, told from the perspective of a young boy who, despite the constraints of time and age, is determined to learn, honour, and keep alive their memory.

It is with great honour that I invite you to delve into his world, embark on this journey across time and history, and experience first-hand the boundless creativity, patriotism, and wisdom that is often the hallmark of youth. Through this remarkable narrative, he reminds us all that age is no barrier to understanding our past or imagining our future. Rather, it is our curiosity and our commitment to truth. Congrats again Sharvesh, for undoubtedly demonstrating your prowess to make a dent in the realms of science and literature!
