In the superworld, Lucy met Aiden and asked him to bring his friends to Skylar’s apartment in the afternoon as they needed to be filled in with important information, Aiden agreed at once.

In the afternoon, Aiden, Kayle, Kol, and Bree headed to Skylar’s. As soon as they entered the apartment, they were shocked to see Emerald. He knew that it wasn’t Jade as he had checked in on her before coming.

“You-you … are not Jade but you look exactly like her!”

“Yes, this is Emerald Whitelock, Jade’s doppelganger,” said Ace to which Emerald interrupted, “Correction, she is my doppelganger.”

Bree then said, “You didn’t exist until now…” And looked up to Lucy for answers.

“Where’s the girl, Aiden?” Asked Skylar. “She’s someplace safe, we first want to know why we’re here.”

Aiden was willing to go to any extent to protect Jade. Emerald sighed, “Kids and their love!”

“Aiden it’s safe to bring Jade I assure you, the matter for which you are here is beyond her and of a grave concern than this ... doppelganger situation,” added Lucy.

Skylar then said, “Kayle, what do you remember of 1700?”

“Um about that war … not much, why?”

“Well, whatever you guys knew until now was false. We are here to tell you the truth and we need your help against what’s coming next.”

“God it’s exhausting now to tell everyone the same awful story again,” Emerald said annoyingly.

“Don’t worry sweethearts, you have to tell your doings to the wolves and the vamps once more,” Lucy said sarcastically to Emerald and Skylar. Emerald rolled her eyes but started briefing about the happenings of 1700–1800. Everyone gasped when they heard the truth.

“Oh my god!” Kayle was shocked, “So what happens to Jade, is she in any danger?”

“You need to get the girl here, I might as well meet the less pretty version of me, and yes, she could be in danger. The attacks started with her, she resembles, well she is an exact copy of me, except the hair color maybe; the demon might have confused her for me. To add more, we don’t know what powers she possesses.”

Aiden was worried about this, “I must go and get Jade here then.”

“Yes, you must, I’ll open a portal for you.” Jade in the mundane world was standing on her balcony, lost in thoughts. Suddenly, there was a beam of light behind her, and Aiden came out of the portal. She smiled.

“Hi Jade, I need you to come with me.”

“Aiden ...” Jade followed him even without a moment of hesitation as she knew she could trust him with her life, the feeling was reassuring for her. As soon as Jade entered Skylar’s apartment, she found her face familiar, “I’m not surprised … you’re the girl from the mall.”

“Yah, she’s definitely my doppelganger,” said Emerald.

Jade then narrowed her eyes and said, “Emerald W-Whitelock!”

“Yes, that would be me and I believe you have something that belongs to me.” She immediately snatched the locket from Jade’s neck. Jade was shocked and raised her voice, “Hey! Give it back, it’s not yours to keep.”

“Well, it’s actually mine to keep, you had it temporarily. Anyways you don’t even know how your powers work. I might as well not waste my time teaching you and use it myself.”

Jade gritted her teeth with anger but stopped.

“Enough,” said Skylar. “We need to tell you about your ancestral past, Jade. We need to be ready for what comes next.”

“I was already briefed about it by my parents.” Jade said as she handed over the picture of Emerald and Skylar to Skylar.

“So now everyone knows what threat he poses to the superworld and us again. He must be put down once and for all. We will have to be ready for all situations. Whatsoever, if anyone wants to back out right now, they can do so now, no compulsion,” said Skylar.

Aiden looked at Jade, “You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to.”

“I got this ...,” she replied with a small smile.

“We’re all in for it,” said Aiden with confidence.

“Great! Shax can be killed now and we’re going to end him. We must start the training soon then,” said Skylar.

“First you need to talk to the vamps and wolves.” Emerald said. Ace smiled knowingly.

Skylar mimicked them, “Whatever!”

The discussion with the vampires and wolves could either turn into a civil one or convert into a bloodbath. Skylar called Thea and Augustus to her apartment that evening to fill them in on the plan and for the approval of their tribes’ support and contribution. Both agreed to grace them with their presence but neither of them had any idea about the other showing up.

After a while there was a knock on the door, Lucy went to open it, “Augustus! Nice to meet you again.”

“Lucy, long time,” Augustus gave her a warm smile and kissed her hand. He was dressed in black with a dog tag around his neck, representing his human life when he was in the military. As he entered, he greeted everyone.

Ace greeted him, “Good to see you again mate,” and chuckled, to which Augustus sighed. As he turned around, his eyes met Emerald’s, he was astounded to see her, “Wait- c-can you guys see her!” Everyone laughed, and his face dropped as if he had seen a ghost. Well for him she was a ghost. Skylar then said,

“Yes, Augustus you aren’t hallucinating, she is very much alive.”

“Alive? but she was d … dead!”

“Yeah, no that’s what we thought….” said Ace.

Suddenly, there was another voice calling Skylar’s name. It was Thea. Augustus immediately recognized the voice. He made a displeased face as if her voice annoyed him to his core and said, “What is she doing here?”

He was interrupted by Thea as she asked the same thing from Skylar as she entered the lobby of the apartment, “Skylar?” said Thea.

“Here comes the problematic ones,” said Emerald sarcastically and added “Good luck with these two Sky.”

“Skylar Lindale I’m not gonna be a part of anything if it involves her!” said Augustus.

“Mutual feelings!” Thea blurted.

They began to argue with each other like cats and dogs telling each other to shut up. Skylar then interrupted, “Stop it … the two of you. Don’t make me regret calling you here, the problem we are to deal with is greater than this stupid dispute.”

“What is the matter?” asked Thea.

Augustus gave her a weird look, to which Thea gave back the same look and said, “You don’t look good that way, just so you know.”

“You agree that I look good at least in some way then.” Augustus made a cocky statement to get on Thea’s nerves.

Thea rolled her eyes in annoyance, “Did you just roll your eyes at me?” Augustus croaked to Thea angrily.

“Yes I did, what are you gonna do about it?” Thea said to Augustus and looked him straight in the eyes as if the height difference they had didn’t matter at all and that she won’t let him hover over her and give him the pleasure to dominate her.

“Stop,” said Skylar and added, “You both need couple therapy, you fight like a married couple,” remarked Ace and laughed.

“So do you two,” Augustus muttered.

Skylar then cleared her throat, “Shax demon isn’t dead. He’s back and he was responsible for the attacks. As per Emerald, he is coming after us all and not just Jade or Emerald. Believing that the revenge for attacks was on your to-do list Thea, and well the vampires always love a good fight and thus we are expecting your alliance.”

“Yes, I’m very much interested,” Thea said.

“Yes, what else can be expected by these filthy wolves,” taunted Augustus to Thea.

“What! Are you a saint!” Thea glared at him.

“Who is Emerald though?” enquired Thea.

Skylar then filled them in with all the necessary details. After that, the meeting for that day was adjourned; they all left Skylar’s apartment. Thea and Augustus looked into each other angrily and left the apartment, as Thea took the lift, Augustus refused to take it and went down thirteen floors by stairs. He reached down panting.

“I prefer to choose my pride rather than comfort,” Augustus replied adjusting his jacket.

“More like your ego,” Thea said as she wrinkled her nose.

“Okay, so I’m going to act wiser and make amends because we have to work together, and we can’t work together like this … it’s exhausting and weird,” Thea added.

“Good, then not acting wise will mean more trouble for you, and that’s what I want,” Augustus said and walked away. Thea shouted at him and replied, “Suit yourself you nutjob.” To which Augustus chuckled with a faint smile not letting Thea know as he faced his back towards her.

Everyone went back home and had a good night’s sleep as from the next day it wasn’t going to be an easy ride putting an end to Shax. Everyone had a vengeance against that creature that helped them unite with each other.
