Another Wild Day to the Collection of Wild Days

On the other hand, Aiden decided to take Jade for a tour of the super realm.

He decided to meet her at the same old coffee shop they met earlier.

The ambience there was soothing as it was adjacent to a library which made it even more appealing. He ordered two hot chocolates as he waited for Jade, sitting on a table in the far corner. Jade arrived after a few minutes and they proceeded from there, as decided earlier by Jade and Emily, Emily accompanied Jade and Aiden.

When Aiden first saw Emily, he questioned her, “Why are you accompanied by a human?” Emily narrowed her eyes and said, “I will be going with her wherever she goes.”

“And she’s not just anybody, she’s my best friend and she knows everything. You can confide in Emily.” Emily then left the table for a while and said, “I’ll let you two talk for a moment, let me know when we leave, nice to meet you too, Aiden.”

Emily was suspicious but decided to trust Jade on this one. Soon Aiden called out for Emily and they decided to leave. Jade was quite excited to see how they’d entered into a new dimension. It was beyond her imagination. Emily was astounded. As soon as they entered the realm, they met Kayle.

Kayle uttered a high-pitched exclamation on seeing them enter, “Jade! We met a while ago, remember?” She hugged and welcomed her. Jade was overwhelmed but pleased at Kayle’s welcoming nature.

“Yeah, I remember, how are you?” Jade acknowledged.

“And who is this?” Kayle inquired as she looked at Emily and then back at Aiden, glaring at him for getting a human into the supernatural realm.

Emily introduced herself but they were seemingly not happy to see her. Riley then intruded and said, “Hi Jade, nice to meet you, I’m Riley Brown. Oh! Aiden your timings are quite off, I’m leaving for London, today, remember?”

Aiden rubbing the back of his neck responded, “Yah, yah I remember, Ril. You have no idea how much I’m going to miss you.” They both shared a hug and then Kayle and Bree went to drop off Riley and bid them goodbyes.

Aiden told Jade that Riley was a close friend and they both had known each other their whole lives. Emily on the other hand was bored enough that she could have slept standing. But soon her eyes caught Kol, she blinked multiple times to avoid her eyelids getting heavy.

Well, no coincidence that Kol acknowledged her too and overwhelmed with shyness made him feel completely stupid by walking away. But then he stopped and gathered up the courage and went up to Aiden to meet Jade and of course her best friend. “Hi! You must be Jade?”

“Yes, I am Jade,” she said in a rather crude manner as if she was tired of telling everyone. “And you are?” She asked. Aiden then introduced Emily to Kol and said, “This is Kol, my best friend, more like a brother. And Kol, this is Emily, Jade’s friend, the only human who knows about us.”

They shook hands, “Nice to meet you, Emily, you sure have a charming personality.” He mumbled the last part to himself. Emily heard it and smiled shyly. They had a weird moment in a dilemma as to whether to hug or wave at each other. Aiden told Kol that he will be taking Jade and Emily on a tour of the mystic world, Kol insisted on joining them.

Aiden showed them around the various areas earmarked for each kind of creature; the witches were the ones who thought themselves elite and have since then actually evolved into better creatures. The realm of the Protectors was more subtle. They went to see the library. It was of grave importance to the superworld and hence Emily was not allowed to enter it. It was off-limits for humans.

Kol decided to stay back with Emily to give her company. To avoid the awkward silence that ensued, he asked an even awkward question.

“So are you with someone?” There he went shuffling for something worthwhile to ask but couldn’t.

She bluntly replied, “Oh god no, these things are not meant for me to be honest.”

She asked back the same question to him, to which he gave the same answer. They both shared a friendly conversation and a very humorous one indeed given their witty personalities.

As soon as Jade and Aiden returned, Jade asked, “Do you guys eat food here?”

“Of course we do, what do you think we are, monsters?” Said Aiden not paying attention to all the words that came out of his mouth.

“Well ...” Jade started only to get interrupted by Kol. “I mean there are monsters around here but we are not one of them, you’re in the clear,” Kol said and chuckled.

Others chuckled and left the area. They had their dinner amidst various interesting conversations.

And around 8 pm, Skylar decided to leave to meet Ace Wayland at the demon den. Thea went after Skylar to her apartment, “You aren’t supposed to barge into someone else’s apartment, haven’t they taught this to you in your wolf curriculum! There is something called ‘knocking’?”

“Hey, hey, hey forget about that … you tell me what is your plan … you’re going to go there ‘alone’! But what are you going to do or say?”

“Oh you poor thing, I’m Skylar Lindale, I’m powerful. Satan himself would have to come to take me if I ever were to die and enough to take them all down, including Ace, the nutjob,” she said as she touched Thea’s face lightly with her hands smiling at her innocence.

Thea then settled on the couch at the corner and while munching on the food kept on the wooden mahogany table next to the couch she said, “Sure, but a kind request, don’t make matters worse. You know I’m your ally after all, you need to listen to my advice.”

Skylar glared at her, “It’s not too late for me to change my mind.”

“Ugh …,” Thea sighed.

In the superworld, every person lived in harmony but there were still some conflicts and of course, the old legends said that the vampires and the wolves were sworn enemies since the beginning of time. This always kept the barriers up between them. The witches, vampires, and werewolves didn’t get along with each other, and the protectors, considered the most elite of them all, were loathed by the rest.

Tribrids, on the other hand, were a confused species … even the royalties. Each group craved for their support but since Skylar is all three, she couldn’t be partial. Hybrids still sufficiently fit the category. For Skylar to go to the demon den was a dilemma. She apprehended the worst during the confrontation, but she decided to let fate decide her way and went ahead.

As she reached there, she saw all sorts of terrible creatures crowding the way. She was a part demon too but even then, she felt disgusted. As she entered the den, everybody glared at her. With her magic spell, she shattered the speakers blasting a screeching noise. Ace rose up from his filth of a throne and shouted, “Who dare spoil my party?” His tone was authoritative and carried the silent threat that if he wanted, he could end someone with a click of his finger. Skylar replied with matching authority in her voice, “I did … hello Ace, it’s been a very long time.” Saying this, she gave a sinister smile and took a deep breath.

Ace was surprised but amazed at the same time on seeing her. “Skylar Lindale, the one and only … what’s brought you here, to me?”

Skylar replied, “Don’t be overexcited, I didn’t have a choice.”

“If you did not have a choice then it must be a matter of grave concern,” he said showing fake sympathy and added, “Are you finally going to admit it to yourself that you are one of us?” He said as if he could see directly through her soul.

“Enough with the imagination, you can fantasize yourself in your dreams. I’m here for something important and I need to talk to you in private,” she said looking around scornfully. They moved to a separate room and Skylar asked him directly, “What do you know about Emerald?”

Ace was pouring himself a drink. He stopped midway and faced Skylar leaning against the table. “So she’s here,” in an all-knowing tone.

“You knew she’s here?”

There was a sense of discomfort and apprehension hanging in the air around.

“Just a wild guess.” He tried to hide it.

“Ace, what do you know, you need to tell me for the sake of this realm!”

“And why would I do that?” Ace was stubborn not to give away any information.

“You’ll eventually have to open that mouth of yours for the good of all.” Skylar said angrily and left the premises.

Ace stared at her disappearing form with a sense of doom.

Skylar went home and remained uneasy the whole time. She had a feeling that Emerald was not gone all these years and that she was alive but she wasn’t confident enough to take any action.

She couldn’t sleep the whole night. Suddenly out of nowhere a crow — darker than usual — entered her room and dropped a roll of paper next to her nightstand and flew away as suddenly as it had arrived. The note read, “Open the portal for answers, A.” Skylar knew who A was. She immediately got off the bed and opened the portal which emitted blue light from her hand, and Ace entered her room.

“You know your angelic side puts me off, Sky,” Ace snapped angrily. Skylar was very firm with what she wanted and asked, “Give me what you came here for.”

“Oh dear, don’t you at least want to catch up a little, seems like you just want to use me … what’s the fun in such a love?”

Skylar was furious. Blue light emanated from her hands which indicated powerful magic. It had the potency to erode Ace.

She then weaved a magic rope and almost strangled Ace threatening him, “Give me the answer right now or else I can give you more fun in case you long for more.”

Ace squirmed in agony as he was half on the ground and halfway hanging in mid-air with the magic rope tightening around his neck and barely could croak, “okay … o … kay, calm down, I’ll speak.”

He sighed in relief when the rope disappeared. “You didn’t have to do that, I’m an old acquaintance, perhaps more than that.”

“Who caused the attacks, Ace? I know it’s the Shax demon and it’s got a filthy old soul, you know what I mean …” Skylar’s voice rose as she spoke. Soon her eyes started to glow from yellow to purple indicating she was agitated. Ace nervously gulped and took a step back. “Sky, calm down, your eyes scare me. And yes, the attack was caused by Shax, and yes indeed he has a pathetic soul, but it wasn’t one of mine. He’s um …mm someone mightier than us, th … the old soul demons from the 1700s.”

“That’s not possible Ace, they were killed … I was a witness to it.”

“How are you so sure? I myself suspect their existence.”

Skylar then yelled and said breaking down in tears as all the memories flooded her mind. “Because I killed them, Ace, I k-killed them all, I set the building on fire to make sure that the roots were killed… they are not locked up anywhere they’re all supposed to be dead, I made sure of that.”

“What did you just say!” Ace was awestruck.

“You set fire to the ancient abandoned castle with Emerald in it? The roots that you said was the oldest Shax demon soul, who was up against Emerald sh … she was trying to cage him for heaven’s sake, that’s what was decided.”

“No Ace, that’s exactly what you don’t know, Em was never going to cage it. She decided to absorb it. It would have made her most powerful and absolutely invincible, never to be tamed and unstoppable. I did what I had to do. It wasn’t easy killing the one person you loved the most. She was my soul sister but the power made her lose her mind, blinded by ambition. I had to do what was needed.”

Skylar broke into tears and slumped on the floor, trying to convince herself what was done had to be done for the sake of the realms. Ace moved towards Skylar hugging her to calm her down and comfort her despite what she had just admitted. He trusted her enough to know that it was a necessary step. Given the fact that the two had shared some softer moments together, Skylar felt comforted.

Skylar stood up gradually, “What’s on your mind? What should we do to put them down once again, permanently this time.” Ace smiled and said, “We will figure it out, together,” interlocking his fingers with hers. They were a team. Both of them smiled with the assurance of support and strength for one another.

Suddenly, there was a strange unrest all around. Strong winds started blowing as if a storm was approaching and with that a shadow began to take shape … and the silhouette of a lady was visible. He was bewildered as to who it could be. Who would dare to enter Skylar’s room without her permission at this hour! He turned to Skylar saying, “Sky, there’s someone behind you.” As the shadow moved closer, her breath stopped for a few seconds as she whirled around to see who it was. It was Emerald and the burnt mark on her neck started glowing weirdly in the semi-darkness. Skylar was overwhelmed with a sense of uncanny discomfort. She was not sure anymore how to feel.

Emerald approached closer to her soul sister with an ominous smile, “Let’s go down the memory lane, shall we!” The tautness in the air indicated the beginning of another tormenting war.

The sinister soul sisters were back in action. The only question that remained was, who were the hunters and who were the hunted?
